Terrazond is The Only Road Diagnostics and Monitoring Tool You'll Ever Need!

Advanced And Affordable Geo RadioTomograph

Key Features

Open data format

For the convenience of integrating the result into user projects, it is possible to form a cloud of distribution points of heterogeneities of the space under study.

High performance

Thanks to the use of a multi-channel antenna array, data collection during mapping is carried out up to 30 times faster than when using monopulse GPR.

Extreme detail

Maximum resolution along the antenna array:

  • for GRT-2X - from 10cm;
  • for GRT-8X - from 5cm.

Maximum resolution in depth:

  • for GRT-2X - from 2cm;
  • for GRT-8X - from 2mm.

Simple interpretation

Visualization of the result in the form of a radiotomographic image provides high speed and convenience of spatial localization of objects and heterogeneities hidden in various environments - soil, road surfaces, building structures, etc.

Wide dynamic range

Measurements are carried out using a digital (signal modulation by step-wise frequency change) or analog (linear-frequency signal modulation) high-frequency radiation generator in the frequency range:

  • from 500 MHz to 2 GHz for GRT-2X
  • from 2 GHz to 8 GHz for GRT-8X

Cascade extension

The ability to combine several antenna modules to increase the scanning width, as well as to increase the detail of the result.

How Does It Work?

An antenna array with distributed receiving and transmitting high-frequency (HF) antennas of a wide range is used for scanning continuous media, which probes the latter from different angles.

To detect and localize inhomogeneities, The mathematical focusing method and aperture synthesis radar technology are used to detect and localize inhomogeneities, in which all the RF signals recorded by the array are summed in phase for each given focus point.

Focusing is carried out by sequentially summing the received signals with the equalization of the time delays of the pulses scattered by a point with given coordinates. Having performed the focusing operation for each point of the selected volume of space, a three-dimensional radio image is constructed.

The focusing operation is carried out in the frequency domain using fast processing algorithms, which allows realizing three-dimensional tomograms of the investigated space in real time.
